Proyek Perpipaan Wulfram (2004:4) dalam bukunya yang berjudul Teori-Aplikasi Manajamen Proyek Konstruksi mendefinisikan proyek adalah keadaan proyek itu sendiri atau gambaran proyek yang dibuat oleh perencana. Sedangkan pengertian Proyek Konstruksi dalam bukunya yang lain berjudul Manajemen Proyek Konstruksi (2005:11) adalah suatu rangkaian kegiatan yang hanya satu kali dilaksanakan dan umumnya berjangka waktu pendek. Dalam rangkaian kegiatan tersebut, terdapat suatu proses yang mengolah sumber daya proyek menjadi suatu hasil kegiatan yang berupa bangunan. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan pada judul “Mengapa Penting Petunjuk Koordinat Pipe Rack pada Proyek Piping?” diperlukan cerita sejarahnya dulu.. Waduh ini blog tentang sejarah apa konstruksi sih? Sabar.. sabar.. namanya juga mau berasalan :-) . Pada tahun 2009-2010, kebetulan perusahaan kontraktor tempat saya bekerja mendapat kesempatan mengerjakan proyek piping pada S2 IWPP Power Plant di Abu Dabhi. IWPP singkatan dari Independent Water and Power Project. Tentu tidak membahas tentang power plant sih, tetapi disini saya hanya ingin memberikan gambaran betapa rumitnya pekerjaan piping pada saat itu.   Awal beradaptasi mengenal scope pekerjaan, tentu yang kita mempelajari gambar key plan dan piping plan. Sedangkan isometrik merupakan gambar detail jalur piping yang dibagi berdasarkan service fuida dengan berbagai macam pengkodeannya. Bisa dibayangkan berapa banyak jumlah tumpukan file-file hard copy gambar isometrik ukuran A3. Saat melihat gambar isometrik inilah awal ide itu muncul.
